Kyokusen Museum

The Kyokusen Museum is situated in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles and challenges the sequentially layered city-building typology by applying a strategy of complex extruded curves. The intersection of vaulted curves contained within a simple rectangular mass, formulate the porous box that invokes light into the most enclosed space. Unlike the paradigm of the pancake building, the multi-directional extruded curves maximize the sectional quality within a typically predestined layered building, meanwhile incorporating ideal light into a densely packed area.
